Users can search and filter newspapers based on their specific advertising needs and then book their ads with the selected newspapers at the convenience of sitting on their desk. Business users can stop or re-run their campaigns with a single click and manage their entire print advertising channel through a streamlined workflow.

Who is the audience for Reachwide.com service?

Reachwide.com is for anyone who wants to advertise in newspapers. Individuals can run their Text Classifieds for matrimony, property and buy & sell etc. and businesses can run their Display and Display Classifieds with newspapers in India.

Why to choose Reachwide.com over conventional methods?

Conventional method of visiting an offline agency or directly the newspaper office to book your ad requires a lot of time, energy and costs you for the conveyance. All the content transfer and actual booking is done manually, and thus prone to human error and unexpected delays.

With Reachwide.com, advertisement booking can be done in a most convenient and least time consuming fashion, i.e. with just a few clicks on your computer. Beyond that, Reachwide.com gives users the information to compare and filter newspapers, schemes and packages to best suit their requirements. If you are an print advertiser and have an Internet connection (which you probably do as you are reading this), then Reachwide.com will prove to be the most cost effective and most convenient for all your print advertising needs. Give it a try to see for yourself!

Getting Started
What is a Classified ad? What is a Display ad?

Text Classifieds, are advertisements in plain simple text without any images or custom fonts. Some minor highlights like placing a hand sign or a tick mark in front of the ad are allowed. Some background colors and sometimes (depending on the publisher) option to display a part of ad in bold or italics is also allowed. Text Classifieds are run in a single column of the newspaper and their placement is decided by the publisher based on the category and content of the ad. These ads are primarily charged by the number of lines they take in a single column.

Display Classifieds, are advertisements that run in a single column exactly like your Text Classified ads, but may include images, custom fonts and colors of your choice. Like of Text Classifieds, placement of these ads is also decided by the publisher based on the ad content and publisher's space management rules. These ads are charged by the area they take on the page in sq cm.

Display Ads, are advertisements that can include images, colors, or custom fonts of your choice much like your Display Classifieds, but do not have any size restrictions. Advertiser can also choose the placement of the ad in any location on any page in any section. The cost of the Display ad varies depending on its placement much more than on its size.

What type of ads can I book with Reachwide.com?

At this point you can only book Text Classified ads with us. Currently Display Classifieds and Display ads are provided to our Business account users on invitation basis only.

In which cities can I place my ad?

You can place your ad in any city in India. You need to select a newspaper and its edition that is available in your target city. For more information on this please take the tour.

Currently, you can place your ads in English language only.

Can I book an ad without signing-up with Reachwide.com?

Yes. You can book Text Classified ads without signing-up with us. However, you will not be able to track your ad submission online with the publisher. You will be informed about your campaign progress via emails. For booking Display Classified ads, you need to first sign up with us.

How much does it cost to book a newspaper ad?

Cost of your ad depends on the choice of your newspaper, edition, city, type of ad, color or bw, layout, size and several other parameters. A typical Text Classified ad will cost you anywhere from Rs. 200 to Rs. 2000, similarly a typical Display Classified ad will cost your anywhere from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15000. Display ads are more expensive and can easily cost you a few Lac. We show you an estimated cost of your ad before you book it.

Important: Actual cost of your ad will only be calculated when the publisher accepts your ad. However, in most of the cases it does not vary much from our estimate, but if it does then we will contact you for your permission to go ahead with the booking.

How much does Reachwide.com charge for its service?

We do not charge anything from the advertisers for the booking service.

How does Reachwide.com make money then?

We have a business model where we get a cut on every booking from the partner publishers.

Choosing Newspapers
What newspapers are available with Reachwide.com?

We offer booking to all their english editions in all cities across India. More newspapers will be added in tiers. Subscribe to our newsletter or our blog feeds to stay updated with our progress.

What is a newspaper scheme or a newspaper package?

A newspaper scheme or package is a discount or free insertion offered by newspaper publisher on particular edition, combination of cities, combination of editions, number of insertions etc. On the 'Select Publishers' page you see all the packages available with the publishers. And, on the 'Select Dates' page you see various schemes relevant to your requirements. To use an scheme or a package all you need to do is to select it and the discount or free insertion will automatically be applied to your booking. For more information on this please take the tour.

How do I find and select the right newspaper?

The online interface provides you with several newspapers that match the basic selection criterion entered by you. Using our filters, you can narrow down on newspapers based on ad types, color or bw and city. Finally you can select the newspaper that best matches your requirement from the list of filtered newspapers.

How do I find which newspaper offers color ads?

On the 'Select Publishers & Dates' screen, there is a check box on the left sidebar to let you see all newspapers or only those that offer color ads. Use this check box to find newspapers that offer color ads.

How many people will actually see my ad?

This number is hard to estimate. The circulation of a newspaper edition only indicates the number of copies sold of that particular edition, it does not in any way indicates how many people actually see your ad. There are no analytics that can capture this number for you. Be creative in creating your ad it will definitely get attention.

Selecting Categories, Sections & Dates
Can I choose section, page or location for my ad?

No. Ads are automatically placed by the publisher in the newspaper section that is best suitable for the respective ad category. Similarly, location of your ad in a particular section is chosen by the publisher depending on their space management rules. This applies to Text and Display Classified ads only. Display ads advertisers can choose their section, page and location for their ads. We currently do not provide online Display ads booking.

Will my ad be placed in the exact category that I choose?

Sometimes No. Based on the content of your ad, the newspaper publisher may decide to place your ad in a category different than what you chose. This is commonly applicable for categories like buy and sell items where an item, say a printer, can be put in 'Electronics' as well as in 'Computers & Peripherals' categories. However most of the times your ad will be placed in the category that you choose.

How do I choose campaign dates? What are the focus days?

After adding the newspaper, you come to 'Select Dates' page where you can select the dates of insertions for your ad.

Focus days are the days when a particular category of ad are published in the newspaper. For example, if focus days for matrimony with a newspaper are -M--T--, then it means that the matrimony ads are published on Mondays and Thursdays only. Dates selection calendar does not let you select a date from a non-focus day, so you don't need to worry about the focus days for your ad category, and all you need to do is to select from available dates in the dates selection calendar.

Creating a Text Classified Campaign
How do I make a Text Classified ad?

You need to follow the directions on your screen. On the 'Create Ad' screen you will be presented with several options to change the looks of your ad. You can add the content of your ad in the text-box provided there and you can preview the looks of your ad in the preview window on the right side of your screen. For more information on this please take the tour.

What can I write in my ad?

You can write anything in your ad that does not violate our Advertising Policies. Beware that your ad may still be rejected if the publisher finds it not-appropriate for their publication. Remember, your ad will be out in the public in a democratic and diverse country. To avoid any issues with your content just follow the best practices for communication and make sure that your ad content does not harm or question any sentiments, values, ideologies, sanctity and security of any person, group, religion, sect and of course of our country.

How do I book a color ad? How do I select templates?

You can't choose the color of your text, however, you can choose the background color of your ad with most of the newspaper(premium charges apply). Similarly, there are some templates available for you to choose from, and some accent marks such as a tick mark or sign of heart etc. to be placed in the beginning of your ad. All these options are available on the 'Create Ad' screen. For more information on this please take the tour.

How my Text Classified ad is priced?

Your ad will be priced based on number of lines or sometimes words that you use as per the rates fixed by the newspaper. Any special accent or highlights that you use or any special template that you use are charged extra. Calculation of the price of your ad will be shown to you on the 'Confirm & Pay' screen. All the rates that are used to calculate the price are given by the publisher itself. Reachwide.com does not charge any fee or commission for using special highlights or templates.

Creating a Display Classified or Display Campaign
(currently available on invitation basis only)
How do I make the ad?

You need to follow the directions on your screen. On the 'Create Ad' screen you will be presented with option to upload your ad from your hard disk. Once uploaded, the preview of your ad will be available in the preview window on the right side of your screen. For more information on this procedure please take the tour.

What sizes are available for my ads?

For Display Classifieds you ad has to be a minimum of 3x5cm. The maximum varies from newspaper to newspaper. For Display ads there are no size restrictions at all. Please follow the Advertising Policies for more information on size requirements.

What are the image requirements?

Images have to be clear and recognizable. The minimum resolution acceptable is 300 DPI. Still make sure that you have used clear and crisp images. Just increasing the resolution of a blurry image in an image editor does not make it clear automatically. Please follow the Advertising Policies for more information on image requirements.

What file types do you accept?

We only accept PDF files with all the required fonts embedded in it. Please follow the Advertising Policies for more information on image requirements.

How do I upload an ad file?

On the 'Create Ad' screen you will see an upload file button. Clicking on the button will pop-up a file selection box that you can use to browse your computer hard disk and select your ad file for upload. The upload process may take some time, so be patient. The screen will keep you informed with the upload progress and once the image is uploaded it will tell you if the image meets the requirements for the newspaper. If you image meets the requirement then you'll see the preview of you ad on the right side of the screen and you can continue to the payment screen; if however, the image does not meet the requirements then you need to fix the image and try to upload it again.

How do I save or export my file as PDF?

Almost every image editor allows you to save your art-work as a PDF file. Just follow the 'save as...' procedure from your program and select file type 'PDF' to save your art-work as PDF file. If you have used uncommon fonts then make sure that you select the 'embed fonts in file' option in your program too. Normally when a PDF file is "produced" most desktop publishing software will automatically embed the fonts, unless they are not true type, corrupted, not correctly loaded in the document, or there is no permission to embed them. Please talk to the program support to understand how you can embed font in a PDF file.

What programs can I use to create an ad?

If possible, we recommend you use a desktop publishing program such as Adobe InDesign. In general, word processing programs are not designed to produce print-ready graphics and therefore may result in a low quality ad.

Remember that your print ad must be uploaded as a PDF file. So regardless of which program you use to create the ad, you'll need to either save the final version as a PDF file or convert your file to PDF using a separate program such as Acrobat Distiller.

How can I make sure my file matches the correct ad size?

When creating your ad, make sure that the size of your saved document matches the ad size you requested in your campaign. So, for example, if you booked a 3.75" x 7" sized ad, your PDF file's measurements should also be 3.75" wide by 7" high. Ads are accepted within +/- 5% of the height and width of your chosen ad size.

The primary way to make sure your ad file matches the correct ad size is to set the document size to match the exact dimensions of your placement. Or, you can include crop marks or a trim box when exporting your file as a PDF to designate the exact size and dimensions of your ad. Crop marks are however not required if your file is sized correctly.

What is the minimum DPI (dot-per-inch) resolution required?

300 DPI

What font types can I use in my ads?

We do not accept bitmap fonts or fonts created with 'artificial typeface'. All vector fonts and all fonts with font's typeface are accepted.

How do I check to make sure fonts are embedded?

If you open your file using Acrobat Reader, go to the Menu Bar and select 'Files' then 'Properties.' In the pop-up window that appears, select the 'Fonts' tab to see a list of all fonts used in the file and if they are embedded, subset embedded, or if a substitute is being used for display.

How do I submit a color ad?

There is nothing you need to do extra to submit a color ad. If you book color ad printing and you uploaded ad complies with the color specification (see Advertising Policies) then your ad will automatically run in color.

However, if your booking is not for a color ad, your ad will be printed in grayscale regardless of the ad you submit. If you submit a color ad, we'll automatically convert it into grayscale. If you do this, remember that all color information will be removed from your ad file; elements like photos or company logos will be printed in grayscale. Therefore, we suggest you convert your ad file into grayscale before submitting it so you can preview how the ad will look without color.

How my ads are priced?

Your ads are priced based on the size, color or bw, and location of your ad. Calculation of the price of your ad will be shown to you on the 'Confirm & Pay' screen. All the rates that are used to calculate the price are given by the publisher itself. Reachwide.com does not charge any fee or commission for using any color or size.

We only accept ads 5 working days in advance. For bigger campaigns, we recommend you to submit your ads as much as 2 weeks in advance to ensure proper execution of your campaign. The latest date that your offer can be accepted is at the discretion of the newspaper publisher. If you submit your ad well in advance, there are high chances that you ad will get accepted. We don not however, accept ads more than 90 days in advance.

Can I change my campaign after submission?

If the status of your campaign shows 'Pending Approval' then you can change or cancel the submission. Once the status changes to 'Accepted', you can not chance your submission. Any cancellation post 'Accepted' status will be honored by us on the case by case basis and may incur a fee.

If the status of your campaign shows 'Pending Approval' then you can cancel the submission. Any cancellation post 'Pending Approval' status will be accepted by us on the case by case basic. All the refunds in that case will incur cancellation fees from the publisher and cancellation processing fees from Reachwide.com

What if my ad is disapproved or rejected by the publisher?

You will be given a reason why your ad is disapproved or rejected by the newspaper publisher. If something can be done by you to fix the problem then you will be intimated so and you can resubmit your ad after fixing the problem. If you can't do anything to fix the problem or you do not resubmit the ad then you will not be charged any money.

How will I know if my ad came out in the newspaper?

If you are not a subscriber of the newspaper then you can look at the epaper editions online, if your newspaper has a epaper edition, to know if your ad came out or not. If epaper edition is also not available then you can ask your family or friends who subscribe to the newspaper to know if your ad came out or not. Unfortunately, we currently do not provide any service to confirm that your ad is run in the newspaper or not.

What if my ad does not run or runs incorrectly?

Every now and then, it's possible that your ad will not be printed as planned. If a publisher is not able to run your ad, you will be emailed and the insertion will be marked 'Ad did not run' in your 'Campaign Summary'. However, please be assured that if your ad does not run, you won't be required to pay.

These sorts of printing problems could happen for a variety of reasons. For example, a large breaking news story may reduce the space available for advertising, forcing a newspaper to cut back on the space available for advertisements at the last moment. Also, the layout process can always present the possibility for human error.

Since these sorts of problems do happen occasionally, Reachwide.com and the newspapers are unable to and do not accept liability resulting from these problems. However, remember that if your advertisement is not printed as planned or is accidentally printed with errors, you won't be required to pay for that placement.

If you believe that your ad ran incorrectly then you need to file a dispute within one week with Reachwide.com. To do so you need to email our customer service with your ad details and invoice number and the problem that you see with your printed ad.
